Albert Earl Reed, 90, of Boaz, Kentucky, died Thursday at 11:36 pm at Lourdes Hospital.
Earl was born in Ballard County, KY on May 20, 1926 to the late Arthur Henry Reed and Emma Frances Martin Reed. He was a longtime member of Gospel Mission Worship Center. He was a 60 year member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #184. Earl was an avid UK basketball fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. He was the loudest fan at the ballpark.
He is survived by his son, Arthur Linn Reed of Boaz; six grandchildren, Mechele Rickard and husband Robert of Eddyville, KY, Sarah Baker and husband Kevin of Paducah, Holly Kimberlin and husband Josh of Paducah, Andrew Reed and Taylor of Boaz, Lorie Reed of Carterville, IL and Julie Reed of Japan; three great-grandchildren, Alex Reed, Camden Baker, and Sydney Glisson; daughter in law, Angela Reed, of Paducah.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Curtis Luvene Bivens Reed; son, Michael Earl Reed; brother, Kenneth Reed; daughter-in-law, Barbara Reed; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Jim Greenwell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
