Ann Rayl

January 28, 1928 — August 2, 2018

Ann Rivers Rayl, 90, of Paducah, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Ann was born in McCracken County on January 28, 1928 to Rollie and Lillis Buchanan. She was a longtime member of Arcadia United Methodist Church, where she faithfully served in the United Methodist Women, Arcadia Cinnamon Sisters and Friendly Crusaders Sunday School class. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bridge at the Senior Citizen's Center. She retired from the Paducah School System and will be remembered for her deep love of family.

Mrs. Rayl is survived by her daughters, Marcia Smartt (Stan), of Townsend, Tennessee, Vicky Quertermous (Steve), Mary Paschall (Kevin), all of Paducah; her grandchildren, Grant Quertermous (Katie), Cliff Paschall (Natalie), Annie Lester (Cary); her great grandchildren, Eloise Paschall, Andy Paschall, Charlie Lester, Adelyn Lester.

Mrs. Rayl was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles William Rayl, her parents, Rollie Garrett Buchanan and Lillis V Elliott Buchanan; her sisters, LaVanche Cox, Sarah Berry; her brothers, Thomas Buchanan, Elliott Buchanan, Bill Buchanan, Bob Buchanan, Gene Buchanan, Dean Buchanan and Ben Buchanan.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Janean Tinsley officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 P.M. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Arcadia United Methodist Church, 261 Lone Oak Rd., Paducah, KY 42001.
