Buster Perry

July 4, 1943 — April 21, 2018

Buster Ray Perry, age 74, passed away at 8:01 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Baptist Health Paducah. Buster was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, Paducah Community College and Murray State University.

He was a retired member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184 and for 19 years he served as an instructor for the Local 184 apprentice program. Buster was a United Association Instructor Training Program faculty member. Mr. Perry was a Kentucky Colonel and a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during the Vietnam War and held membership in the USS Kitty Hawk Veterans Association.

Survivors include wife of 51 years, Emily Harper Perry; three sons, LTC Jeffery Perry and wife, Teresa of Woodbridge, VA, John Perry and wife, Alison of Nashville, TN, James Perry and wife, Vicky of Atlanta, GA; one sister Beverly Ruley and husband, Raymond of Paducah, KY; six grandchildren, Elam, Adam, Emma, Brant, Jillian and Jacob Perry; two nephews, Curt Ruley and Keith Ruley and wife, Debbie both of Paducah, KY.

A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Brad Whistle officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military rites. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with prayers to be held at 7:30 p.m.
