Dorothy (Dot) Nell Buie, 81, of Paducah, left this life for a much better one on Friday, June 9th at 8:15 P.M at her residence.

In her early childhood, she attended Trinity Baptist Church and accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of 10 and was baptized in a galvanized tub in the church basement. She was a student at Henry Clay and Paducah High School. She was a faithful wife of 58 years and a model homemaker to her three children, being a den mother, a brownie leader, and attending their games and concerts during their school years. She traveled with her husband and family throughout her husband's career years in the Army, residing in several states and in Germany. She had the opportunity to vacation in some European countries, her favorite being Holland. She was employed at Readmore Book Store during the 70's and worked with American Greetings for 15 years.

In her later years, she enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinal ball games and the Price is Right. She enjoyed going to yard sales, camping and playing cards with her family and friends. She often beat everyone while playing Scrabble.

Her church affiliation was with Southland Baptist Temple since 1970 to present day. She worked alongside her husband in the bus ministry, served on the hospitality team and the nursing home ministry. Her favorite scripture verse was Isaiah 40:31 and hymn was "In The Garden." She loved getting to travel with her church family to the Holy Land.

She is survived by her son, Charles Buie, and wife Lita, her daughter, Karen Williams, and husband, Marc, of Paducah, her grandchildren, Jarrod Council and wife, Jennifer of San Antonio TX, Kelly Estes and husband David of Paducah and Lindy Buie of Louisville. Also survived by her great grandsons, Isaac and Conner Council, of San Antonio TX, several nieces and nephews, and her dear friend, Nancy McIntosh.
