Dorothy Peyton

November 15, 1924 — June 4, 2016

Dorothy Marshall Peyton, 91, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 12:17 a.m. Saturday, June 04, 2016 at Baptist Health Paducah. She retired from Leake Printing Company as a Bindery Clerk. Dorothy was a member of Olivet Baptist Church. She loved to travel and has been to all 50 states and enjoyed farming. Dorothy was a graduate of Augusta Tilghman High School. She served in the United States Army during World War II.

She is survived by her daughters, Pam Dunlap and husband Larry of West Paducah, Kentucky and Cathy Williams and husband Vernon of Nashville, Tennessee; son, Steve Peyton and wife Jacqueline of Paducah, Kentucky; sister in law, Freda Peyton Walker of Paducah, Kentucky; 4 grandchildren, Tanya Vance, Michael Peyton and wife Janet, Daniel Peyton and wife Julie and Todd Williams and wife Beth; 8 great grandchildren, Cody Moore, Peyton Hollingsworth, Kenzie Peyton, Audrey Peyton, Dylan Peyton, Luke Peyton, Nate Williams and Tyler Williams; 1 great great grandchild, Tristan Moore and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James Harvey Peyton; brothers, Charles Marshall and Clarence Marshall. Her parents were W. A. Marshall and Bertha Burris Marshall and after their death she was raised by her aunt and uncle, C.W. and Anna Berry.

Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2016 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to, Paducah Cooperative Ministry, 402 Legion Drive, Paducah, Kentucky 42003 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
