Dortha Bennett

Fulton, KY

Dortha Mae (Stoker) Bennett, age 92 passed away on February 10, 2020, following a short stay at Stonecreek Health and Rehabilitation. Mrs. Bennett was born in Fulton, KY, the daughter of Roy and Louise Stoker.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bennett is predeceased by her husband of 72 years, Norman Bennett; one sister, Jimmie Nell Crounch; and two brothers, Lee Roy Stoker and Bobby Stoker.

Survivors include two children, son, Phillip Bennett (Vivanna Galli) of Otisville, NY and daughter, Beverly Hill (Dennis) of Paducah, KY; two granddaughters, Melissa Charland of Knoxville, TN and Samantha Allen of Southern Pines, NC; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Charlene Lamb of Fulton, KY; three brothers, Charles (Clista) Stoker, Donald (Jackie) Stoker, and sister-in-law, Linda Stoker, all of the Atlanta, GA area.

Mrs. Bennett retired as the Director of the Housing Authority in Bowling Green, KY after which she and her husband returned to Paducah.

The family wants to give special thanks to her friend, Judy Quinton, for her love and devotion to our mother. We would also like to thank Mercy Hospice, as well as Rivercrest (formerly Brookdale) Assisted Living for their care and understanding as well as the friends she made during her residency.

It was Mrs. Bennett’s wish to not have a formal service. Following cremation, Mrs. Bennett will be interred beside her husband at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers please feel free to donate to the church or charity of your choice, and remember to be kind to all.
