Euel Mullen

March 19, 1923 — February 27, 2017

Euel Mullen, 93, of Paducah, KY, passed away peacefully from this Earth on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Calvert City Convalescent Center.

Mr. Mullen was a member of Gospel Assembly Worship Center and was retired from TVA where he helped keep Kentucky Dam looking beautiful to those who visited. He was often found racing and beating fisherman half his age in a foot race from the tail waters below the dam, up the rocks and into the parking lot. He enjoyed sharing these stories and many more with his family while they camped at Star Camp in LBL. Mr. Mullen was an avid outdoorsman who loved to camp, hunt and fish. Euel loved to crack Jokes and make people laugh. He had a mischievous twinkle in his eye that let you know when he was up to no good. He was a true blue UK fan and loved watching the CATS play basketball.

He is survived by his daughter, Reda Watkins Vied and husband, Chester of Benton, KY; two sons, Leonard Euel Mullen and wife, Rhona of Ledbetter, KY, Wallace Lee Mullen and wife Debbie of Orland Park, IL; six grandchildren, Brock Watkins and wife Jessica, Blaine Mullen and wife, Angie, Greg Mullen, Secret York and husband, Kent, Julie Kozel and husband, Travin, Tracey Mullen Stephens; nine great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Annie Mullen; and the love of his life Francis Jones Mullen; two sisters; seven brothers; son in law Jerry Don Watkins that was more like a son. Several years after the death of Francis, Euel was lucky enough to find a partner in crime when he met and married Linda Volonino.

Funeral services for Euel will be 11:00 am on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Paducah with Rev. Jim Greenwell and Buddy Duke officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the funeral home.
