Hubert Humphrey

Hubert Eugene Humphrey, 89, of Paducah, died Wednesday at 3pm at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Hubert was born in Paducah on August 30, 1925 to the late Herman and Effie Simmons Humphrey. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Hubert owned Humphrey Floor Covering until his retirement in 1988.

Surviving are his wife, Betty J. Harris Humphrey; children, Tootsie Aldridge and husband Kenny, of Paducah and Greg Humphrey and wife Jo, of Hardin, KY; siblings, Sue Hall and husband Kenneth, of Benton, KY, Annette Ramage and husband Richard, of Plymouth, MI, Hyatt "Cotton" Humphrey and wife Juanita, of Calvert City, and Herman Humphrey and wife Jane, of Kevil, KY; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Preceding him in death were a son, Ronnie Humphrey; sisters, Elizabeth Kerner and Marie Finney; brothers, Murlin Humphrey, Tinker Humphrey, and James Humphrey; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jimmy Franks and Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 3-5pm at the funeral home.
