Paducah, KY

Jerry D. Hughes, 83, of Paducah passed away at 6:12 pm on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN.

Mr. Hughes retired from UPS after 33 years as a Semi Driver. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Teamsters Local 710 of Chicago, IL.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nina Hughes of Paducah; three daughters, Vicki Hunt of Paducah, Lisa Hopkins of Ledbetter, Tina Hughes of Ledbetter; 7 grandchildren, Dustin Roberts, Bree Snow, Amanda Hunt, Brooke Ibrahim, Blake Colson, Jarrett McFall-Hughes, Santana Cazares; 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Wade Hughes and Hazel McDaniel Hughes; one sister, Jane Ann Hughes; one brother, Jimmy Wade Hughes.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Keith Tilford officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
