Kathy Jones

Kathy Walton Mason Jones, age sixty-six years, seven months and one week, left to join her heavenly father on Friday, August 7, 2020, at 1:38 p.m. She was resting peacefully in her home while surrounded by family and friends.

Kathy was a loving wife. She loved her granddaughters and would find any opportunity to spend time with them and to give them gifts. She was a big fan of science-fiction thrillers, movies, and enjoyed going to the theaters to catch the newest releases. She enjoyed her flower garden, knitting, and adored her ceramic figurine collection.

Kathy leaves behind her husband of 33 years, Johnny R. Jones; four children, Ron Meadows of Hermitage, Tennessee, Matthew Meadows of Madison, Alabama, Johnna Shanaari Jones of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Brian Jones of Metropolis, Illinois. She leaves behind four granddaughters, Alyxandria Meadows, Abbye Johansen and Asmiah Meadows, each of Heritage, Tennessee and Natalee Jones-Denson of Mayfield, Kentucky; three brothers, George Clinton and Charles Clinton, Both of Cleveland, MS, Kevin (Karyn) Williams, Maywood, IL, three Sisters, Sebrina Williams, Streamwood, IL, Yolanda McGhee, Rex, GA, and Nelson Johnson, Houston, TX; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mothers, Ms. Cedone Harris of Cleveland, Mississippi and Ms. Leola Weatherspoon Williams of Berkely, Illinois and her father, Lige Mason.

Kathy reached out and touched hundreds with her thoughtless kindness. She will be truly missed by those she cared for and those who cared for her.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 14, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Reverend Calvin R. Cole, Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends may also call at the funeral home on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral hour.

The service will be livestreamed on the Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home, LLC Facebook page beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Friday.

Due to the Covid-19 state mandated restrictions we ask that you enter the funeral home wearing both a face mask and gloves and observe six feet social distancing within our facility.
