Mary Ruth Forberg, 91, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 4:33 a.m. Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Baptist Health Paducah. She was born in Garden City, Alabama. Mary Ruth was a retired License Practical Nurse for Methodist Evangelical Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She worked on the Manhattan Project during World War II and received a service pin honoring her service. Mary Ruth was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the Reaper's Sunday School Class and a former member of the Lone Oak Woman's Club. Mary Ruth was a very loving, caring and dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother and was very proud of her family. She enjoyed reading her Bible and studying God's word.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Toy and husband Bob of Paducah, Kentucky; sons, Charles Forberg and wife Sharon of Murray, Kentucky and John Forberg and wife Vanda of Clarksville, Arkansas; brother, Cecil Gaddy of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren, Susan Beard and husband Brandon, Marshall Toy and wife Emily, Janie Powell and husband Chuck, Mandy Edmondson and Erika Forberg Arcieri and husband Richard; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mary Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Hartvig D. Forberg; sisters, Katherine Baker, Sally Knighten and Clara Mae Davis; brothers, Robert Gaddy, Kenneth Gaddy and Jimmy Gaddy. Her parents were Charles Marshall Gaddy and Maudina Edwards Gaddy.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Bob Martin and Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time of 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2017 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
