Mildred Alvey

Mildred Champion Alvey, 88, of Paducah, died Sunday, January 08, 2017 at her home.
Mildred was born in Adair County, KY on November 4, 1928 to Lloyd and Lola Smithers Champion. She was a longtime member of Bryants Ford Baptist Church. Mildred worked at Woolworth's for over thirty years and was a valued member of their company. She and her husband, Edmond, enjoyed fishing and staying at their cabin on the lake.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Edmond Alvey, Jr.; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her sister, Betty Champion Dykes; brother, J.B. Champion; and her parents, Lloyd and Lola Smithers Champion.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Revs. Jim Wooldridge and Paul Hatcher officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
