Nell Hudson

November 25, 1925 — June 22, 2015

Nell B. Hudgens Hudson, 89, of Paducah passed away on June 22, 2015, at 10:50 a.m., at the home of her son, Jim Hudson. She was the President of Nell Hudson Construction. Nell was born in Memphis, Tennessee on November 25, 1925. Growing up, she attended Long Street Methodist Church, where she accepted the Lord as a teenager, during a church revival. She graduated from White Haven High School. She married the late William H. (Bill) Hudson on October 14, 1944, and they moved to Paducah in 1963, where they made their home and raised their three sons, James H. (Jim) Hudson, William M. (Mike) Hudson, and Henry L. (Hank) Hudson. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, and the Wesley Sunday School Class. In earlier years, she and Bill enjoyed square dancing and were members of the antique car club. She was well known by many for her warm hospitality and wonderful home baked cookies, cakes and pies, especially her divinity, fudge, and pecan cookies. She also enjoyed the Christmas Season with a beautifully decorated home and many get to-gethers for family and friends.

She is survived by her eldest son, Jim Hudson and wife Carolyn and her daughters in law, Donna Hudson and Carol Hudson, 8 grandchildren, Laynie Stiles, Jimmy Hudson, Jason Hudson, Stacey Buzbee, Clint Hudson,Kate Rawdon, Sarah Gilliam, and John Hudson, 18 great grandchildren, and 4 step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents James W. and Willie Mae Hudgens, one sister, Frances Giddens, husband, William H. Hudson, and sons, Michael Hudson, and Hank Hudson.

The family will receive friends at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2015. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Earl Dickerson, Rev. Clint Hudson, and Rev. Eric Rawdon officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
