Neoma Cooper

Neoma Elizabeth Tharp-Cooper, born February 11, 1932 in Paducah, KY, passed away at her home on October 23, 2017 in Doniphan, MO surrounded by her family and loved ones.

Neoma was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Mable O'Donnely Tharp of Kennett, MO. She grew up in Kennett, MO and graduated from Kennett High School. She had worked as a legal secretary and for CPA Rob Milford of Paducah, Ky prior to retiring at the age of 72. Neoma married Elvin Cooper of Paducah in 1979 and they enjoyed life together until he passed away in June, 2007. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and traveling. Neoma had also written a book about her childhood called "The Homes I Lived In". She attended West End Baptist Church in Paducah and loved her church family, holding an active membership prior to her illness.

Surviving are two nieces, Velvet Krueger (Doug) of Poplar Bluff, Mo and Gail LaBryer (Walter) of Grandin, Mo; one nephew, Jack Jones (Heather) of Arroyo Grande, Ca; seven great-nieces and nephews, Heather Harris of Doniphan, MO, Rondel Pruett of Neelyville, MO, Jason Pruett of Poplar Bluff, MO, Samantha Krueger of Poplar Bluff, MO, Ashely Breuning of Fairdealing, MO, Beth Crader of Gatewood, MO, Josh Jones of Bakersfield, Ca; and fifteen great-great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her very special friends, caregivers Jackie Barks-French of Doniphan, MO, Dena Hinton of Doniphan, Mo and Misty Grogan of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Neoma was proceed in death by her parents, Lonnie and Mable Tharp of Kennett; sisters, Virginia Jones-Ruminer of Grandin, Mo and Norma Fahr of McFarland, CA; and her, husband Elvin Cooper of Paducah, Ky.

Graveside services will be held at 1pm Friday at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. DeWayne Chadwick officiating. There will be no visitation.
