Nona Stuart

May 1, 1931 — April 12, 2018

Nona "Marie" Stuart, 86, of Paducah, began rejoicing in heaven Thursday afternoon, April 12th, 2018. Marie was a retired cafeteria worker with the McCracken County school system. She was a member of the Kentucky Education Support Association/NEA, lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, and was a Duchess of Paducah and a Kentucky Colonel. Marie was of the Baptist faith and a longtime member of Heartland Church.

Marie is survived by three daughters, Shelby (Kenneth) Quertermous of Paducah, Charlotte Stuart of Paducah, and Teresa (Robert) Patton of Modoc, S.C.; one sister, Glenda James of Ledbetter; three grandchildren, Jenni Sue (Michael) Morris of Phoenix, AZ., Jonathan Quertermous of Paducah, and Mariann Horne of S.C.; two great grandchildren, Alexis and Jonathan Tollison; very special friend, Wanda Goin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Stuart; her parents, William Foster and Pearline Campbell Shelby; one son, William Robert "Billy Bob" Stuart; three brothers, Ervin H., William, and Raymond Shelby; one half-brother, Lee Shelby; three sisters, Ruby Helton, Edna Swartz, and Barbara Nell Shelby; and two half sisters, Ferrell Berkley, and Bernice Styers.

Friends may visit the family on Monday, April 16th, 2018 at Lindsey Funeral Home from 11am until 12 noon. Funeral services will start immediately following the visitation at 12 noon with Pastor Robert Patton and Michael Morris officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
