Patricia Carter

April 2, 1935 — July 29, 2017

Patricia Jean Carter, born April 2, 1935, peacefully passed away Saturday, July 29th, 2017 with her family by her side at Baptist Health of Paducah. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, she moved to Paducah in 2002 to be closer to her family. In her earlier years, she was an avid bicyclist, hiker, and ham radio operator. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2005 and was forced to give up her love of biking. She however, found new interest in reading, volunteering at Baptist Health Hospital, Heartland Worship Center's A.C.T.S. program and helping out in her son's busy medical practice. Her favorite volunteer job was at the Carson Center where she was able to enjoy performances and productions as she loved the Theatre. She was very involved in Paducah Singles where she made many friends. She loved to dance and participated in ballroom dancing classes. She came upon a rescue dog named Max, who gave her unconditional love and enjoyed walking with him. She dearly loved her grandchildren and watching them grow up into fine people. Patricia was a member of Heartland Worship Center.

Patricia is survived by her brother, William Wealleans; her beloved children, Debra (Buddy) Ryals, Robert (Joyce) Carter, and Dr. Russell (Caron) Carter; eight grandchildren, Sabrina (Jeremiah) Hintz, Devon(Jacky) Ryals, twins, Amanda and Vanessa Carter, Chelsea Ryals, Rece, Lexi, and Sydney Carter; and two great grandchildren, Matias and Mila.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, August 3rd, 2017 at Lindsey Funeral Home from 1pm until 3pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm following visitation with Rev. Nathan Williams officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
