Patsy Gibson

April 18, 1941 — January 10, 2017

Patsy Jean Gibson, 75, of Symsonia, KY, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at her home.

Patsy was born in Marshall County on April 18, 1941 to Rudy and Ruby (Cunningham) Bolen. She was a cheerleader while she attended South Marshall High School. Affectionately known as "Miss Patsy", she was dearly loved by the Symsonia community and made friends everywhere she went. Socializing was one of her favorite pastimes, particularly "Ladies Day Out" with Salt and Light Community Church, Sunshine Bass and Gals Fishing Club, and Friday Night Party Animals Bowling League. Patsy was a proud cancer survivor who fought the disease into remission. A competitive person, she loved to play the slot machines at the casino and never turned down a card game with friends. She and her late husband, Harold Gibson, owned and ran the H. Gibson Saw Mill for over forty years. She approached each day with the desire to be happy and to make those around her feel well cared for and loved.

She is survived by two daughters, Felicia Watts of Bowling Green, KY and Melinda S. McGuire of Symsonia. She was "Granny" to her beloved granddaughters, Allyson (Casey) Smith of Lexington, KY and Lauren (Fiancé, Brian Drukenbrod) Watts of Nashville, TN; great-grandson, Ford Edison Smith; sisters, Alice Hayden of Symsonia and Patricia Higdon of Paducah; step-daughter, Tessie (Donnie) Wright of Boaz, KY; and step-grandchildren, Carson Wright of Boaz, Kable (Rebecca) Holt and Dakota Gibson both of Marshall County, KY.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Harold Gibson; step-daughter, Tammy Gibson; step-granddaughter, Jennifer Tolley; and parents, Rudy and Ruby Bolen.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jim Glover officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-7pm and after 10am Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Salt and Light Community Church or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th Floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
