Devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Paul S. "Pud" McGowan, 76, of Kevil, KY, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2015.
He was born on May 11, 1938 in Cunningham, KY to the late Rob and Euva (Moyers) McGowan.
Paul was a man of many talents. He was an avid car enthusiast, business owner, fisherman, and teacher. During his 16 years as an auto mechanic instructor at Ballard Memorial High School, Paul touched the lives of so many students. He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Clark McGowan; four children, Paula (Jimmy) Ross of Kevil, KY, Brad McGowan of Kevil, KY, Joy Skidmore of Paducah, KY, Wendy (Robert) Skidmore of Nashville, TN; five grandchildren, Megan (Chip) Kinsey of Bandana, KY, Michael (Sarah) Skidmore of Paducah, KY, Kolby Skidmore of Austin, TX, Steven McGowan of Kevil, KY, and Madison Skidmore of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren, Jack Kinsey, Hudson Skidmore, and Andrew Kinsey; three sisters, Dorothy (John) Waters of Lovelaceville, KY, Sue (Tommy) Duncan of Lowes, KY, and Robbie (Burl) Upshaw of Paducah, KY.
He was preceded in death by his only brother, Wilbur Gene McGowan.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thursday, April 16th at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Jared Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 4pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
