Peggy Spencer

June 11, 1931 — November 21, 2016

Peggy was born in Kenton, TN on June 11, 1931 to the late Richard and Doris Barner Jenkins. She married George Spencer in 1950 and they moved to Paducah in 1956 when he took at job with TVA. Peggy assumed the role of homemaker, diligently caring for her family. She and George were avid gardeners who enjoyed sharing their produce with family and friends. They also spent many quality hours fishing together. Peggy was a longtime and faithful member of Broadway Church of Christ in Paducah.

Her husband, George, survives her and lives in Gallatin, TN. She is also survived by her two sons, Dennis (Kathy) Spencer of Gallatin, TN and George R. Spencer of Columbus, OH; five grandchildren, Allison (Martin) Milliken, Kristin (Chuck) Spearman, Evan (Nicole) Spencer, Lindsay Spencer, and Paige Spencer; and seven great-grandchildren, Charlee and Baylee Spearman, Colton and Kelsey Spencer, Owen and Logan Smith, and Caleb Spencer.

Her brother, Paul Jenkins, and parents preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 12pm Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Gary Enlow officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10am Saturday at the funeral home.
