Richard Springer

September 11, 1950 — May 1, 2016

Richard A. Springer, Sr., 65, of Paducah, KY, passed away at 12:02 am on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center.

Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a former truck driver and mechanic. He was a life member of the VFW post 1191. He was a member of the American Legion post 31, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Vietnam Veterans of America, and 40/8 post 921. He was also of the Pentecostal faith.

He is survived by three sons, Richard Springer Jr. and wife Anna of Paducah, KY, Chris Springer and wife Tiffany of Paducah, KY, Anthony Springer of Paducah, KY; one sister, Vivian Lambert and husband Kenny of Benton, KY; two brothers, Dennis Springer and partner Michael Hamm of Paducah, KY, Eddie Springer and wife Teresa of Paducah, KY; four grandchildren, Justin Biggers, Randy Allcock, Christian Springer, and Camrie Springer all of Paducah, KY; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Goodwin Springer; sister, Mary Connell; and brother Larry Springer. His parents were George Eddie Springer and Jewell Worlene McGill Springer.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at Lone oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Leeland Hayden and Rev. Joel Caluey officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
