REVEREND ROBERT M ANDERSON

Reverend Robert M. Anderson, 94, of Paducah, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2015, 3:03 PM, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Paducah.


He was a retired pastor and minister who was a member of First Liberty Missionary Baptist Church where he also served as an associate minister. He received his Bachelor of Theology from the Hopkinsville College of the Bible and was past President of the First District BTU Congress. He was also an instructor at the Hopkinsville College of the Bible's Paducah Extension class and served as Pastor of Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church from 1963-1973 and Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church form 1973-1998.


He was a graduate of the former Lincoln High School and attended West Kentucky Vocational School where he received certification in shoe repair and carpentry.


He retired from the US Postal Service as a letter carrier in 1980, after working 21 years. He is also a World War II Veteran of the United States Army.


He is survived by two daughters, Karen Anderson Lamb of Houston, TX and Roberta Anderson Strickland of Paducah; Seven Grandchildren & Five Great-Grandchildren; one brother, Robert(Connie) Coleman and one sister, Neffallie Anderson, both of Paducah; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Moten Anderson and Velma Robinson Anderson; his wife, Rosa Shelton Anderson; one son, Robert Kevin Anderson, one grandson, Jarret Anderson; five sisters and two brothers.


Funeral service will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015, 11:00 AM, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Calvin R. Cole, Sr. and Reverend Michael Wade officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.


Friends may also call at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
