Thomas Richard Davis, 81, of Paducah, passed away at 1:50 pm on Wednesday May 17, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Davis studied at Georgia Institute of Technology where he studied Chemical Engineering; was a Member of Southland Baptist Temple, was a United States Army Veteran and a member of The American Legion Post 31. He worked for Boeing in Huntsville Alabama as a Design Draftsman on the Saturn V Project; for Union Carbide as a Senior Engineering Design Draftsman; was a design Engineer for Shelton Metrology; and was President and owner of Davis Metrology and Manufacturing Company.
He is survived by his daughter, Trina Davis Wright and husband, Greg; grandchildren, Brock Wright and wife, Nichole, Colby Davis and wife, Bethany, Dustin Davis and wife, Gaybrielle, Chad Wright and wife, Rachel, McKell Davis and Fiancé, Nate Hillebrand and Bryce Wright; great grandchildren, Heaton Lee Davis, Joanna Ray Wright; sisters-in-law, Janice Davis, of Paducah, KY, Shane Watts of Ledbetter; two nephews, Bj Belcher and Dale Watts; and niece, Tana Kiebler; and special friends, Dot Buie and his Waffle Hut friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Bobbie Jean Watts Davis; son, Richard Lee Davis; brothers, Jackie Davis, and Terry R. Davis; father-in-law and mother-in-law Robert Lee Watts and Vera Burns Watts; and brother-in-law Kenneth Watts. His parents were Lee H Davis and Clara Rebecca Fields Davis.
Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be 1:00 pm on Friday, May, 19, 2017 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah with Rev. Jimmy Franks and Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with military honors.
Visitation for Mr. Davis will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday at the funeral home.
