Thomas Simons

Thomas Earl Simons, 72, of West Paducah passed away at 9:42 am on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital.

Thomas was a Deacon at Rickman Road Missionary Baptist Church, a church and church family he loved very much, he also volunteered for the McCracken County Jail Prison Ministry for several years. Thomas had a deep love for the river and river industry retiring from Mid South Towing in 1996 as a Chief Engineer.

Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia Patterson Simons; one daughter, Tina Newton and husband Dave of West Paducah; one son, James Earl Simons and wife Terri of West Paducah; one brother, Donnie Raye Simons and wife Betty of Warner Springs California; three grandchildren, Tamara Berry and husband Jeff, Tyler Simons and wife Jade, and Taryn Simons; and three great grandchildren, Ashlyn Berry, Emmalyn Berry, and Jaelyn Berry. He also loved his pets Kaylee and Daisy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl C. Simons and Dorothy Mae Goin Simons.

Funeral services for Thomas will be 1:00 pm on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Rickman Road Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Stan Durrett officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation for Thomas will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Rickman Road Missionary Baptist Church.
