Bill Lofton, 92, of Reidland passed away at 3:40am on Friday, March 13, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Lofton owned and operated The Old Bait House in Paducah from 1953 until 1993. He was a native of Lone Oak and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church, where he served in numerous leadership positions over the years.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Jo Watkins Lofton, daughter, Leslie Ballard and husband Steve, of Paducah; son, Rodger Lofton and wife Linda, of Paducah; four grandchildren, Andrew Ballard and wife Courtney, Katherine Thomas and husband Robbie, Tim O'Brien and wife Rebecca, Shannon Wallace and husband Blake; four great grandchildren, Jackson Thomas, Ashley Wallace, Taylor Blessett and Izabella O'Brien; and nephew Jeff Pugh and wife Peggy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josh Lofton and Pearl Cashon Lofton; and two sisters, Marjorie Nussbaumer and Teresa Pugh.
Funeral services for Bill will be at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Beal officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
