William Parker

April 15, 1923 — December 24, 2016

William Allen Bailey Parker, 93, of Paducah, KY passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Parker was a veteran of the United States Army where he served his country during World War II. He returned to the area to work for the railroad before later reenlisting to serve his country once more during the Korean War. He retired from a career as a US Postman and then went on to work for Vasco Industrial Supply Co. for 20 years. He enjoyed spending his time growing and maintaining his vegetable garden and he was an excellent craftsmen, working with wood and building many things. He was a long time member of Lebanon United Methodist Church.

Mr. Parker is survived by his two daughters, Donna Nicholson and husband Ted F. of Lexington, KY and Cheryl Parvin and husband Roy of Ledbetter, KY; five grandchildren, Chad Vaughn and wife Stacy, Jackelyn Blues, Karen Coffman and husband Barrett, Susan Parvin and Amy Wood and husband Jonathon; thirteen great-grandchildren, MaKayla Shelton, Bailey Vaughn, Jordan Duncan, Lydia Blues, Andrew Blues, Bailey Coffman, Jack Parker Coffman, Milbrey Ann Coffman, William Coffman, Abby Wood, Mary Wood, Kaylee Wood and Sam Wood; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Gardner Parker; his parents, Thomas Matthew and Mable Sexton Parker; three sisters, Elsie Shankle, Ollie Sills and Eva Tate; and two brothers, T.M. Parker and Ronald Earl Parker.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, December, 27, 2016 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. John Smithmier and Rev. Barrett Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Memorial Gardens cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy make take the form of contribution to Lourdes Hospice, PO Box 7100, Paducah, KY 42002 or to the Lebanon United Methodist Church, 4620 A.T. Massa Dr., Paducah, KY 42003.
